Winter 2007 NewsletterOften Imitated, Never Duplicated The Original PaintBall SamsThe snow is off the ground, the sun is high, and the seasons are changing fast, it is time to do something about your cabin fever and what better then heading out into the woods to play some paintball! Opening weekend is approaching fast and we need to let you all know about some of the changes this year at the field. Carry On Paint Now AllowedFirst and foremost we now allow carry on paint, in walk-on games ONLY. Those playing in private parties are still required to use field paint. We reserve the right to refuse the use of any paint and no one is allowed to sell paint on the property, anyone caught doing so will be removed. New Membership DealDue to our allowing carry on paint we were forced to make some other changes to things like Memberships and free weekends. Memberships now cost seventy five dollars for one full calendar year. Members will pay a ten dollar field fee instead of the twenty five dollar walk on fee. Members may also buy one case of paint a day at a special rate of sixty five dollars and will receive free compressed air fills. Field FeeWalk on field fees are now 25.00 for non members and 10.00 for memembers. Special WeekendsWeekends that were traditionally ‘free play’ in the past, such as Memorial and Labor Day, now will have a flat fee of ten dollars instead of the usual twenty five dollar fee. Members play for free on these week-ends. Spring and fall big game will remain the same as always with free admission for everyone! Although we DO NOT allow carry on paint for the Big Games we will be offering substantial savings on pre order paint. Check the web site for more Big Game details.Sport ShowWe hope everyone gets a chance to stop out the Sports Show in March. We will be there handing out flyers and trying to encourage new players into the sport. Stop on by the booth and say hello and buy us a beer. The sport show runs from March 9th thru the 18th and is at the Wisconsin State Fair Grounds. Bar WarsThis year we would really like to see more teams try out Bar Wars. In case you didn’t know, we run a weekly paintball league in the summer called Bar Wars. This consists of five man teams, starting the first Thursday night in June and running for ten weeks. Each team starts at an assigned barrel with stamp pad and a “passport”. Once the game begins the teams maneuver through the woods going to each teams barrel and stamping their passport. As the game continues the fire fights get hot and heavy players that are eliminated hand off an arm band that is specific to their team. At the end of the game players are awarded points for every stamp on their passport and each enemy arm band they turn in. Bonus points are awarded for getting a stamp from every barrel on the course and finishing the game alive! There are two games played every night of Bar Wars and at the end of the season the top three scoring teams are given trophies and a cash prize. All team entry fees are returned in the form of cash prizes at the end of bar wars. So if you are looking for something to do this summer other then the same old soft ball or volleyball league give Bar Wars a try. What Type of Player Are You?A lot of players over the years seem to have come down to two categories, woods ballers and speed ballers. A woods ball player likes to don his camouflage, creep out in the woods, and stalk his fellow players in game of cat and mouse. Speed ball players like to don a jersey, step out on to a small flat field, separated from the other team only by small bunkers and play fast paced in your face paintball. We at Sams cater to both types of players. We have many wooded fields to satisfy even the most hard core woods ball players. There are plenty of fox holes, forts, hills, and even a village to carry out their battles. On the flip side we also have hyper-ball fields, made up of either corrugated tubing or spools and drums to keep the tourney style play at a fever pitch. In fact, we are happy to introduce a field the staff calls Stony Woods which merges the hills and trees of woods ball with the bunkers and fast pace of speed ball. No matter what type of play you prefer we are bound to have a field to fit your tastes. Sams would also like to encourage you to try both types of games. Why narrow your field of play to one type or the other when you can come to Sams and play both! |
